Q: Is Aces & Eights still open?
A:No, APS (American Power Sports) bought it. The new name will be Powder Keg Harley Davidson and opened in November 2009.
Q: When I attempt to log in, it won't let me in. How do I gain access?
A: You must first be a member. To become a member, join HOG National first, then Join our local chapter. See the "Join Our Chapter" page for details.
Q: Why does the web site keep making me log in over and over again?
A: It could be a number of things. Are your "cookies" turned off? Are you running Windows and have your web filter on? With any Windows, you should be able to go into your web browser security settings and allow cookies for our site. You may be on a business network which has high security settings by the IT dept.
Q: I am not receiving the e-mail "blasts" from the chapter. Why?
A: It could be a couple of things:
- your e-mail address in your web site profile is incorrect
- your spam blocker is set at a high level, you need to put info@powderkeghog.com in your address book.
- You need to join the chapter
Q: Why can't I choose my own log in ID?
A: Since our chapter uses the message board to communicate, we have elected to use the first initial, last name format so that your identity will be easily recognized.
Q: How do I upload a picture into my user profile so I have a picture next to my message board posts?
A: After logging in, members can upload an image to their own profile. This image will appear next to your message board posts. Simply click "Edit your settings", near the top of the "Member Home" page, there is a spot to upload an image from your own PC.
Q: How do we decide when to send out ride invites?
A: On single day rides, we shoot for 10 days or so ahead of time. The main reason is to give the road captain(s) time to pre-ride and type up a ride description. It does no good to invite way ahead of time when there are no details to share.
On overnight rides, we usually let the Head RC dictate when to broadcast based on hotel accommodations and such.
It is ultimately up to the Head Road Captain as to when ride invites go out. These are the basic guidlines that are being used now.
